May You Never Dread the Morning

May you never dread the morning,
the start of a new day,
May you never curse a Monday
because of work or obligation.

May everyday give you a glimmer joy,
of happiness, of peace.
Because life is too short to curse
the sun when it rises
the moon when it watches.

Life is too short
to fill your days with the mundane
or a job with tasks you hate.

May you never have a bad day,
if anything have only bad moments.
Be sure to sprinkle in the things
that make your heart soar
in the midst of the sour.

So you yourself do not waste this life
like so many others have.
Who’s lives were filled with people and things
but didn’t amount to anything real.

May laziness and mediocrity never touch your being
May your choices be wise
Your friends love you back
May you find beauty in all of the little things in your path.

May the light inside you shine, even when the sun is not
And may you never feel disheartened, you are needed.
And may you live your whole life,
Never dreading the morning.
